Today is the 28th anniversary of my wedding. Over the years there have been ups and downs, zigs and zags. Marriage is hard and requires a lot of respect for each other.
An anniversary is not meant to be a reminder of a long journey. But rather, an anniversary is meant to be a symbol of wonderful moments we are yet to see.
For me it boils down to this: It’s the way he still looks at me, as if nothing else matters. I think I’m lucky to have found such an amazing man who’s always there for me and our family.
Here’s a sweet poem I found (author unknown):
To My Husband
Still think you’re hot.
Still love your smile.
Still laugh at the funny things you say.
Still need your hugs.
Still craving your kiss.
Still love when you touch me that way.
Still glad you call
to simply say “Hi”
or just cause you’re thinking of me.
Still like the way
I start out the day
with you as the first one I see…
Still having fun
just staying at home,
or when we go try something new.
Still falling in love
more and more every year –
and I’m so glad
I’m married to you.
Happy Anniversary!
