I never thought of myself as a huge David Bowie fan, but was surprised and a bit sad to hear about this death two days after his 69th birthday. Part of the sadness had to do with learning he had been dealing with cancer the past 18 months. Yet in that time-frame, he continued to “work” and create music. That struck a chord with me…it’s best to keep focusing on the real things and make a difference where you can.
David’s music left an impression with many and he had a huge influence on pop culture overall. One of his song’s that made an impression on me is “Let’s Dance.” He probably wants us to dance while we still can.
Let’s make the best of every moment just like David did.
Lyrics to “Let’s Dance”
Let’s dance – Put on your red shoes and dance the blues
Let’s dance – To the song they’re playin’ on the radio
Let’s sway- While color lights up your face
Let’s sway – Sway through the crowd to an empty space
If you say run, I’ll run with you
If you say hide, we’ll hide
Because my love for you
Would break my heart in two
If you should fall
Into my arms
And tremble like a flower
Let’s dance – For fear your grace should fall
Let’s dance – For fear tonight is all
Let’s sway – You could look into my eyes
Let’s sway – Under the moonlight, this serious moonlight
If you run, I’ll run with you
If you say hide, we’ll hide
Because my love for you
Would break my heart in two
If you should fall
Into my arms
And tremble like a flower
Let’s dance – Put on your red shoes and dance the blues
Let’s dance – To the song they’re playing on the radio
Let’s sway – You could look into my eyes
Let’s sway – Under the moonlight, this serious moonlight
