Remember to Celebrate Life

My mother-in-law has been in the hospital for 5 weeks now, in ICU for 4 of those weeks actually. She is sort of getting better, so we are taking it one day at a time with her situation. She has such a strong spirit and is very resilient! Then my stepfather’s mother died unexpectedly last week. That took us by surprise.

It’s been a long time since I last attended a funeral.

The whole family gathered for my grandmother’s memorial on her birthday. What a great way to celebrate her life. The service was performed by a Methodist Minister and a Catholic Priest. My grandmother was Catholic but belonged to the local Methodist church for their social activities. 🙂 We had some good laughs remembering her “feistyness” and her great sense of humor. She loved adventures too.

I am lucky to be surrounded by such strong women like my mom, mother-in-law and grandmothers; they supported and helped mold me into who I am. You may have your differences with those around you, but life is a journey to be celebrated every day.
